Exam Accommodations

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires the PTBC to make “reasonable accommodation” for applicants with disabilities in giving examinations. If you are a person with a disability that may affect your ability to take any portion of the examination, the ADA may require the agency to provide alternative examination arrangements. We are not required to do so if we are unaware of your need for alternatives. We ask that you inform us of any alternative arrangements you may require to take your examination(s) by providing PTBC with the information requested on the Request for Reasonable Accommodations (D1) form. This information and any documentation regarding your disability and your need for accommodation in testing will be considered strictly confidential; however, your signature on this form is authorization for the release of this information to the provider of the examinations to document the need for an accommodation.

Complete and submit the Request for Reasonable Accommodations (D1) if requesting reasonable accommodations for examinations.

PTBC must have this form prior to granting eligibility.

SUBMIT THIS FORM TWO WEEKS BEFORE YOU PLAN TO REGISTER FOR THE NPTE AND/OR CAL-LAW.

PROFESSIONAL VERIFICATION OF NEED FOR ACCOMMODATION PORTION ON PAGE 2 MUST BE COMPLETED.

You must also indicate you are requesting reasonable accommodations when you register for the NPTE and/or CAL-Law through the Federation. Visit the Federation website for testing accommodations information.
